See scan – absolutely perfect condition. Important Imperial Russian era early 1780-1810 bronze dore’ / Bronze Doré Candelabra in Louis XVI style and most certainly a St. Petersburg make. The ormolu candelabra is a single candlestick with a large cherub or putti fihure holding a flower bouquet with finely decorated floral motifs covered all over the whole piece including base. The candelabra is a multipiece sculpture with a total height of about 600mm (23-24 inches) and weight of nearly 20-22 pounds (about 10 kilos). Only the cherub or cupid is about 240mm tall standalone… The piece has its original and perfectly preserved gold plating / gilt in exceptional quality without any restorations being made in the typical Russian chiseling style. It also has attached 5 rock crystal pendant decorations near top. Superb quality of cast and gilding. Underneath the base there are 4 small holes, so we believe that once there was a malachite base attached. Similar pieces are described in Sychev’s Encyclopedia of Russian Bronze and are considered one of the rarest and most beautiful pieces of Imperial Russia bronze foundries. No foundry marks on the piece, but that is absolutely normal for this type of piece and era. LIFETIME GUARANTEED AUTHENTIC. Absolutely scarce antique Russian bronze collector piece and one of the rarest Imperial Russian bronze ormolu / bronze dore candelabras.
