This is an extremely scarce january 12th 1914 Imperial Russian Royal Palace Dinner Menu from an official dinner with His Royal Highness the Emperor and King of Russia Nicholas II. The menu is a special occasion one for commemorating the death of Grand Duke Nicholas, i.e. Grand Duke and Field Marshal Nikolai Nikolayevich Romanov and the grand opening of his monument in St. Petersburg on January 12th 1914. The menu comes in a set with the official program of the opening ceremony of the monument and only a very limited number of guests were invited to that official dinner in the Winter Palace. The menu has a scarce high relief 'prege' multicolor printed Imperial double headed and crowned black eagle crest and Coat of Arms. Eagle is holding a Royal scepter and orb and has fantastic details. The whole crest is surrounded by the highest Imperial Russia award and decoration - the Grand Collar of the order of St. Andrew. The crest has a great feel and almost looks like been made from enamel, but is an extremely high quality printing masterpiece with gold and other colors. It is now impossible to find such restaurant menus from Tsarist Russia and specially from any of the Royal Palaces. The menu measures about 175mm x 95mm and all the dishes are written in French. Absolutely scarce Imperial Russian Historical memorabilia collector piece and one of the rare really authentic St. Petersburg Winter Palace documents.
