Item description:

See scan – perfect condition. This is a nice and extremely rare Bulgarian Royal order of St. Alexander 2nd Class with swords above cross. This is an early WWI King Ferdinand I gold plated / gilted sterling silver issue and 52 mm between the arms. The piece is the cross from the 2nd Class set only, but such a 2nd Class St. Alexander with swords above has been awarded as a decoration only to about 10-15 Bulgarian Generals and highest ranking Army staff. The original ribbon of the order was missing so we replaced it with the best closest match. During WWI Bulgaria was an Imperial German / Germany war ally and several highest ranking German Generals had also received those highest classes of Bulgarian orders. Absolutely scarce military / militaria collector piece and one of the rarest WWI Bulgarian orders.
